Mighty Mujer Triathlon is an all-female race that challenges and inspires. The race starts with a 400-meter swim in an outdoor 50-meter pool. Athletes then bike a 2-loop route with some long inclines. The race finishes off with a lively and supported run!

Mighty Mujer Triathlon empowers and supports new and experienced triathletes with fun and informative lead-up events and fantastic support on race day!

SPRINT

400 meter swim - 14.6mi bike - 3.1mi run

FEES

$75 / April 21 - May 31

$90 / June 1 - August 31

All registration is individual. No relays.

Maps

PACKET PICKUP

Each athlete must pick up her own race packet. Athletes must show photo ID at packet pickup.  USA Triathlon annual members must show USA Triathlon Membership.  At packet pickup, athletes receive:  race numbers, swim cap, shirt, maps and other goodies.  

Thursday, October 4 (4-7pm) @ Tucson Endurance Performance Center (4811E. Grant)
Friday, October 5 (4-7pm) @ Tucson Endurance Performance Center (6448 N. Oracle)

 

MOTHER-DAUGHTER & GIRLFRIENDS TEAMS

Form a MOTHER-DAUGHTER or GIRLFRIENDS team! The first member of a team to register creates and names the team; others can join it when they register. Each member of a team enters individually (no relays for this race!). All members of a team must compete in the same distance. They will compete against other teams racing the same distance. The fastest average overall time wins in the team category. Women who enter as a team and do not win the team category will remain eligible for Age Group and Athena awards.

MOTHER-DAUGHTER teams must have 2 participants racing in the same distance.
GIRLFRIENDS teams must have 4 participants racing in the same distance.

 

RACE DAY SCHEDULE

Saturday, October 6        6am – Transition Area Opens
                                             7am – Opening Ceremony & Mandatory Athlete Meeting
                                             7:30am – RACE BEGINS
                                            10:30/11am – Awards (estimated)

Fundraising for Emerge! Center Against Domestic Abuse 

Mighty Mujer Triathlon participants may sign up to raise funds for Emerge! Center Against Domestic Abuse.   Participants who meet the goal of raising $500 will receive a refund of their race registration fee.  Emerge! Center Against Domestic Abuse provides domestic abuse crisis intervention and housing, prevention, education, support, and advocacy services to anyone experiencing domestic abuse. All fundraising will be online through RunSignUp, and registrants who sign up to raise funds will be able to direct others to their fundraising link. 

Minimum Age

Athletes must be 12 years old or older as of December 31, 2018 to participate.

Awards

Awards for each distance will be given to the Top Female Overall, Top Mother-Daughter Team, and Top Girlfriends Team. First through third place will be awarded for each distance in the following categories: 14 & Under, 15-16, 17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+, Athenas (Females 165+ lbs) Under 40, and Athenas 40+.

USAT Membership 

Mighty Mujer Triathlon is USA Triathlon-sanctioned; USAT rules apply.   Most Commonly Violated USAT Rules
All athletes must be members of USA Triathlon to compete. If you do not have an annual membership, you may purchase a $15 one-day pass during registration. 

Travel

If you are traveling from out of town, a block of rooms is available at a discounted rate at our host hotel, El Conquistador Tucson, A Hilton Resort.  You may make reservations for Friday and/or Saturday nights by clicking below.  To secure the special rate, please reserve by September 14.

SINGLE:  $169/night + tax (resort fee included)

DOUBLE:  $169/night + tax (resort fee included)

A number of Tucson-area shops offer bike rentals. Please check the Tucson Resources page for details and reserve early!
