Swim classes

City of El Paso  Adult & Youth Swim Classes
The Learn to Swim program offers swimming lessons for adults and youth of all levels, including Adult Beginner, Fitness/Conditioning, and Masters. Learn to Swim classes are offered at several City of El Paso pools, click here for class descriptions, schedules, and fees.

Fort Bliss Adult Swim Classes
The Fort Bliss MWR offers adult swimming lessons for all active-duty military personnel and ID card holders. Class topics include survival swimming, stroke development and refinement, and fitness swimming.

Socorro ISD Adult & Youth Swim Classes
The Socorro ISD (SISD) Aquatic Center offers public Learn To Swim classes for children ages 4-12 years old. The classes are for beginning swimmers and designed to teach the basics of swimming and water safety to students. SISD also offers private individual instruction for adults and youth. 

YMCA Adult & Youth Swim Classes
The YMCA of El Paso offers swim programs for adults and children of all ages and abilities, teaching students both aquatic and safety skills. All YMCA Aquatics classes are taught by certified YMCA instructors.

YWCA Adult & Youth Swim Classes
Each YWCA Swim class focuses on helping adults and children become more comfortable in the water while learning and perfecting basic swim strokes. All trainers are certified swim instructors. Private lessons are available by appointment.

Ascarate Aquatic Center
Ascarate Park has an outdoor aquatic center featuring a 50-meter Olympic-size competition pool, a small pool for children, and several water slides. The aquatic center is open Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day weekend. General admission is $2.

City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department
The City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department has fourteen aquatic centers - ten indoor and four outdoor. General admission is $3 for adults (18-59), and $2 for youth (0-17) and seniors (60+). Click here for a current pool schedule.

El Paso YMCA
Open and lap swimming is available for members at three YMCA Locations: Loya, Bowling, and Westside. Click here for pool schedules and membership information.

El Paso YWCA
The YWCA has five aquatics facilities available for members. Both the Joyce W. Jaynes and Shirley Leavell Branches offer open lanes for swimming. Click here for a list of daily, monthly, and specialty rates.

Fort Bliss MWR
Fort Bliss MWR offers lap swimming for active-duty military and their families at the Aquatics Training Center and the Replica Aquatic Center. Lap swimming is always available during normal business hours. Click here for aquatics fees and schedules.

Socorro ISD Aquatic Center
The Socorro ISD Aquatic Center has a 25-yard, 8-lane pool available for lap swimming during normal business hours. General admission is $2.


Crazy Cat Cyclery
Crazy Cat Cyclery offers fun and inviting beginner/intermediate group rides each weekend, as well as a variety of interactive events and clinics. Check the Crazy Cat Facebook page for upcoming rides and events.

Trek El Paso
Trek El Paso offers a wide variety of rides for cyclists of all levels. For a list of upcoming rides, visit their Facebook page.

The Bicycle Company
The Bicycle Company hosts group rides and events, including flat repair clinics and bicycle fitting. For up-to-date information, visit The Bicycle Company website.

Chuck's Bicycle Repair
Chuck's Bicycle Repair offers a flat, fun, and free beginner-friendly bike ride every Tuesday night at 7pm. The rides leave from Soho Lounge (500 N. Oregon) and last approximately 45 minutes.

El Paso Bicycle Club
The El Paso Bicycle Club is a group of recreational road cyclists who focus on exercise and fun. In addition to longer weekend rides, the Bicycle Club offers Beginner/Intermediate (B/IG) group rides from mid-March through October. B/IG rides are designed to be educational and enjoyable, teaching new cyclists basic riding skills, bike maintenance, and more. The El Paso Bicycle Club rides are free and open the the public. EP Cyclists
EP Cyclists hosts fun, friendly year-round rides for cyclists of all levels. From beginner to advanced routes, EP Cyclist rides are safe and encouraging. For a list of upcoming rides, visit the EP Cyclists Facebook page.

Velo Paso
Velo Paso is passionate about improving conditions for cyclists and pedestrians in the Paso del Norte region. In addition to group rides, Velo Paso hosts safety training and bicycle skills courses, public awareness campaigns, and bicycle- and pedestrian-friendly events. Team  Sun City
Team Sun City is an organization that focuses on motivating and supporting the local cycling community by hosting rides on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.  To find out more information on rides, visit the Team Sun City Facebook page.


Up and Running
Up and Running, El Paso's only specialty running store, offers 3-6 mile weekly group runs for all levels from both their Eastside and Westside locations. 

  • Westside (3233 N. Mesa, Suite 205): Every Tuesday at 6pm

  • Eastside (1475 George Dieter, Suite O): Every Wednesday & Friday at 5am

Run El Paso
